Dinghy Sailing
You may be a newcomer to the sport, not sure if you want to take it up, or you may be an old sea dog who’s just rediscovering their sea legs. Whatever the case our private tuition is ideal. An hours private lesson will get you afloat to see if it’s going to be your thing. Once you’re hooked you can go on to complete the RYA courses, including learn to sail level 1 and 2, and the 5 specialist modules. Our crew boats are now a Laser 2000, Topper Omega and an RS Feva. Our single hander fleet comprise of Topper Taz, Topper Topaz and Picos.
Private coaching
As with all of our sports we believe the fastest and most cost-effective way of learning is by private one-to-one tuition. £42 for a private lesson for one hour, plus a practice hour (only available to RYA level 1 sailors).
£65 for a 2 hour lesson. So as a beginner sailor you will be with an instructor the entire time of the lesson. Also ideal if you want to boost your confidence.

£185 Block of 3 x 2hour private sessions. (Includes Logbook)

Start Sailing RYA Level 1
This course provides a short introduction to sailing for novices, and usually takes three 2 hour lessons. By the end of the course, you will have a basic understanding of boat handling techniques and background knowledge. You will learn all about rigging the boat and all of the parts, wind awareness and manoeuvres to be able to get your self around a triangular course. It is recommended that all participants consolidate this short introduction with Basic Skills Level 2 course.
Basic Skills RYA Level 2
Once you have mastered the art of level 1 sailing, you can progress onto level 2. Level 2 is usually achievable in three 2 hour lessons as in Level 1, or four 1 hour lessons followed by four 1 hour practice sessions. You learn about the five essentials, how to get more out of the boat , as well as learning greater boat control with manoeuvres such as the man overboard drill and basically “tidying up” your sailing! Level 2 is normally the recognised level to enable you to hire a boat at other centres.
